Welcome to my little place on the interwebs.
My name is Steve, and i’m a game & pinball addict. (God, that sounds like an opening line from an AA-meeting. Oh well.)
Not only do i like to play pinball and arcade games, i also like to repair and restore them.
That’s what this blog is all about. [More...]
Removing the mylar from the playfield right now. Freezespray method isn’t working really well because there are a lot of small cracks in the mylar. Going to try with label/sticker remover next.
Around newyear’s i got a free Pinball machine from my brother-in-law.
It’s a 1985 Rock by Gottlieb and initially got it “for parts”.
The playfield is worn and it “wasn’t working” according to the previous owner.
However, as i’m very curious, i tried powering it on at first.
The MPU LED would turn on, as would the GI. Nothing else.
Inspected the fuses, and sure enough, a few of them were blown, and others were replaced with copperwire.
Replaced all the fuses with new ones. At this point, i didn’t know what to expect, but we did have attractmode!
As i feel this “junker” cabinet could have a second life and i hate destroying pinball and arcade machines, i’m going to do a full restoration & shop job.
You may call me crazy now.
